Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Sheryl grew up surrounded by the unforgettable sounds of the 1970s, a decade she proudly calls the best era of music. Those songs became the soundtrack to her life, creating memories that still make her smile today. Her love for the music, artists, and history of the era eventually inspired her to turn that passion into something others could experience together: This Is My Song Board Game.
The idea was sparked in 2012 during what was supposed to be a night out enjoying a Doug E. Fresh performance. While waiting for the show to begin, Sheryl, her husband, and other couples at their table started talking about music. Before long, the conversation turned into a lively debate over songs, artists, and who knew their music best.
And according to Sheryl, she was always right.
That fun, competitive exchange planted a seed: What if the conversations and debates people naturally have about the music they love could become a game?
Sheryl continued developing the idea and became serious about bringing it to life around 2015. The journey would ultimately span approximately a decade. Like many dreams, the game sometimes had to take a back seat as life happened, but Sheryl never let go of the vision.
Today, This Is My Song Board Game represents her love letter to the music of the 1970s and the memories connected to it.
